This PC is small, but performs like a beast. I ordered it as a surprise for my husband, and he was BEYOND thrilled (yeah, he's an IT). He had been using two Raspberry Pi boards as the "brains" for our home automation system, but was able to consolidate those functions as well as his old NAS into one solution with this mini PC. Now it functions as our back-up storage, home automation, media server, and then some. It takes up very little space (important, because it lives on a sailboat, where space is at a premium). It is a bit power hungry since it does have such a fast CPU (and the shiny RGB lights don't help, but those are for ME, so my husband keeps them switched on ;-). We have had no issues with it overheating. It did come with Windows 11, but my husband runs a Linux OS on it, so I can't speak to the Windows issues another reviewer mentioned.
Overall, this is an excellent little powerhouse that I would highly recommend.
I've been using this mini pc, or should I call it nano PC for the past month, and here's a little bit about my background. I've been building my own desktop PCs for the past 25 years. So I've been able to learn a thing or two, and I've tested virtually every commercial CPU that has been produced for the last two decades. So while people have to run benchmarks and all kinds of crazy tests to bragg about a few FPS more than the other, I instantly know how fast a computer will be just by running the initial set up, or installing Windows or any OS available.
This mini PC runs like a dream, it is fast, it is quiet, doesn't even get warm. The included 1TB SSD is gen 4, it's got 32gb of ram, and the integrated graphics are able to deliver decent performance for gaming, and stellar performance for 4k media consumption.
To put things in perspective, this tiny nano PC, outperforms my new MS Surface Pro 11 which costs almost 4 times as much.
The mini PC comes with Windows 11 Pro installed and activated. And the LEDs on the case provide a very nice looking effect.
Adding a second NVME SSD is not only possible, but crazy easy, just remove the 4 bottom screws on the bottom cover, and the lid comes off immediately, note two things***. One of the 4 screws on the bottom have a tamper proof sticker on it, so I don't know if opening the lid will void the warranty or not, which in any case I don't mind, cause I know I won't be needing the warranty on this machine. And secondly, when you try to remove the lid, you will find some resistance, and it's nothing like a ribbon cable or anything, it's just a thermal pad that goes on top of the SSD and makes contact with the bottom lid, so it's kinda sticky, and that makes the resistance when removing the bottom lid. The future has brought very good things, and the possibility of having such a powerful full PC in such a tiny space, it's a wonder. Although the mini PC concept has been around for several years now, they are getting faster and more powerful while fitting comfortably on the palm of your hand with the years.
If you need a new PC, and want to save a pretty penny, while also saving energy and getting serious power to the same level of some mid to high end full desktop PCs, I would suggest you to give this one a try. I mean, the only computer this tiny PC cannot compete with, is my main full desktop computer which is a Ryzen 9 7950X3D with a MSI MEG motherboard and a high end graphics card, but we're talking about almost 6-8 times the cost of this tiny PC which is just a little beast!
The product listing says it's an Intel i7-13620h with 16 cores and 20 threads. While this PC does have the 13620h, that processor actually has 10 cores and 16 threads (6 P cores, 4 E cores). Somewhat misleading. Aside from that this PC is still quite good and very capable. The 13620h will give some despktop processors a run for their money despite being a laptop part. So far, I haven't run into any stability issues. I use this PC for video editing with Davinci Resolve and making music via a DAW named Bitwig. Both run very smoothly. I don't really game on it but I hear the Intel UHD graphics that come with this can run some games as long as they aren't too graphically demanding. I would call this more of a productivity machine than a gaming machine. It handles CPU intensive tasks very well. Cooling performance is good too. The vapor chamber was a good choice for this chip. The highest temperatures I've seen during heavy workloads are mid 70s deg. C. which is very much in the safe zone. The inclusion of a USB4 ports is also nice. It is very fast for data transfer. I max out the SSD's speed before hitting the USB4 limit. The USB4 is also nice if you did want to add an external GPU to run something like Blender and get faster render times when you need it. It feels well made, too. It has a bit of weight to it. I thought it might be a little bit ugly because the listing pictures do not do it justice. It actually looks pretty cool and the RGB lights have grown on me. There's a button on the side that controls the lights and they can be switched off. All in all I really like this computer. It is a very good option if you need a fast, efficient, small form factor, and relatively inexpensive powerhouse that can smoothly run programs like DAWs, video editors, photo editors, and other productivity focused software which needs a fast CPU.
I definitely have mixed reviews of this little machine. It's pretty, and pretty heavy and pretty powerful!
And I really WANT to write that it is a superb computing device... and in some ways, it is.
But it also bring up some serious questions as I try it out:
LIMITATIONS / PROBLEMS:
-- Did not boot out of the box.
-- Has no WiFi on/off switch, yet somehow got irretrievably into "WiFi=OFF" mode
-- Has no label, documentation or indication that this is a legit copy of Windows
-- Locked up and hung at "WiFi is turned off" stage of Windows setup
-- Had to hold down DEL key and reset CMOS to get it to boot properly
-- Has only ONE HDMI port (other similar devices have THREE) and one DisplayPort
-- I have THREE HDMI monitors on my desk; so in order to use this, I'm going to need a USB.to.HDMI adapter or DP.to.HDMI converter to use all my monitors
-- This takes up almost three times the space as my existing mini PC, and I'm not sure I want to give it that much space (tho it's operating speed is definitely a plus... and a strong draw pulling me to swap out my old one and figure out some way to put this one to use!) ... So for now, it's a port on my KVM, and I'll test it there before migrating it to my BikeDesk with three monitors!!
GOOD POINTS / FEATURES:
-- Super Fast processing
-- Quality Graphics
-- Easily accessible and swappable hardware for NVME SSD, RAM, WiFi cards
-- Attractive silver case with rainbow ring light
-- 5 USB Ports (2 USB-A and 1 USB-C on front; 2 more USB-A on rear)
-- Dual Gigabit ethernet
-- Large Cooling fan (which is a feature in some ways, but if it hangs or gets noisy later, might not be!)
-- VESA mountable to rear of monitor, entertainment center, rack
Neutral Features that could go either way:
-- Rather large footprint for "Mini PC, compared with other mini pcs
-- Measures 5 x 5 x 2 (50 cu in) compared with 3.5 x 3.5 x 1.5 (18.4 cu in)
-- Rather Large, heavy power supply ( 5 x 22.5 x 1 11.25 cu in)
Overall... it's a high-power, qualty graphics and computing device, easily capable of replacing quite a significant desktop PC, and do so sucking far less power and taking up far less space. That said, it's also taking up almost three times the space of other mini-pcs, who wport more HDMI ports and connectivitiy flexibility while drawing less current/power. Certainly the SPEED and COMPUTE POWER of this one FAR SURPASSES most any other mini pc in its class.
( For the informed Linux user: check this out: 93K vs 18K "Bogo MIPS" Wowza! That's IMPRESSIVE!)
So... Do you need this mini PC? Well, if you have a bit of spare cash for its higher price tag, and some spare space on your desk or VESA mount for its larger footprint, and you aren't needing immediately 3 HDMI ports without adapters... then it might well you new best option for a mini-PC.
